This property was originally owned by the Temiskaming & Northern Ontario Railway as their mandate reserved the mineral rights for 50 feet on both sides of their track. On September 12, 1906 an Ottawa consortium leased this strip of ground from Mileage 101 to 105 for the sum of $50,000 and an annual royalty of 25%. This was the Right of Way Mining Company and eventually over 3,000,000 ounces was produced.

     The building housing the headframe and adjoining facilities is a classic “rockhouse” similar to the Townsite at Site #1. The ore sorted at this facility was sent to a custom mill near the south end of Cobalt Lake.

In 2021, Ontario Northland has installed K-rails to limit access to the property pending a risk evaluation report. This report was supposed to be done in the summer of 2021, so use extra caution in this area.
